has promoted Joe Jouhal to the newly created position of Senior Vice
President, Sales and Marketing. In his new role, Jouhal will be responsible
for directing Emptoris’ integrated global sales and marketing
organizations.

Jouhal joined Emptoris in 2002 as General
Manager EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) and was responsible for greatly expanding and diversifying
the European operations including significant customer wins in the
UK, Germany and Scandinavia. In October of 2003, Jouhal was promoted
to VP of Worldwide Sales and has lead the sales team in delivering
major new customer wins in key industry verticals including retail,
consumer packaged goods, manufacturing and finance. He has also been
responsible for expanding Emptoris’ presence into Asia as well
as strengthening partnerships with major system integrators and business
process outsourcing firms.

Jouhal brings a highly successful track record in enterprise information
technology sales and general management. Prior to joining Emptoris,
Jouhal was vice president of operations and general manager at Ariba,
Inc. Responsible for the EMEA region, his work with Ariba translated
to millions of dollars in new software licenses, professional services
growth, and maintenance and support revenue. Jouhal has also held senior
management positions at major organizations, including Nortel Networks,
Clarify Inc., Remedy Corporation and BMC Software.
