EMPTORIS NAMES MICHAEL F. DOYLE TO ITS ADVISORY BOARD

Recognized Procurement, Sourcing and Supply Chain Authority to Help Leading E-sourcing Vendor Continue Rapid Market Growth

BURLINGTON, Mass., March 20, 2002 - Emptoris, Inc., a leading provider of collaborative strategic sourcing solutions, today announced that it has named Michael F. Doyle to its Advisory Board. Doyle, a recognized authority in procurement, sourcing strategy and supply chain optimization, is the founder of the National Initiative for Supply Chain Integration (NISCI). His career has led him from purchasing and manufacturing/operations management positions at Ford Motor Company, Motorola and Rockwell International, to his current position as owner and director of Doyle Consulting Group, a management consulting firm focused exclusively on supply management improvement.

In addition to his corporate experience, Doyle has held a number of educational positions, including the Executive in Residence at the University of San Diego and Professor of Procurement and Sourcing Strategy at the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management, at Michigan State University. He is frequently featured as a procurement and supply chain authority in business and trade publications, and is co-author of one of the most influential books focusing on strategic supply management, "The American Keiretsu - A Strategic Weapon for Global Competitiveness."
