BURLINGTON,
Mass., September 12, 2000-New Regional Offices and Sales Management
Executives to Increase the Customer Base for the Company's ePASS
Solution
Emptoris, Inc., the leading provider of dynamic B2B e-commerce
solutions for net market makers and Global 5000 companies, today
announced that it has expanded the company's national presence
with the opening of two new sales offices and the hiring of two
key sales executives. Newly opened locations in Atlanta and Chicago
will establish strong regional bases from which ePASS, the company's
web-based strategic sourcing solution that automates and optimizes
the online Request for Quotes (RFQ) and decision support process,
will continue to penetrate the expanding B2B exchange market.
"The growing acceptance of net markets as a medium for conducting
business has prompted the industry to closely examine the technology
that powers these online exchanges," said Avner Schneur, president
and CEO, Emptoris. "There is a rapidly increasing demand for solutions
like ePASS that elevate the online commerce experience to something
that more closely resembles the way business is done offline.
It is this demand that is fueling Emptoris' channel expansion."
To manage this increasing sales activity, Emptoris announced the
addition of James Noschese to the team as Senior Vice President
of Sales. With an extensive background in sales and marketing,
Noschese brings a wide array of skills and experience having served
as Vice President for Parametric Technology Corporation and Vice
President of Sales for Formation Systems. He also held management
positions in sales and marketing at Eastman Kodak Company. Noschese
earned his Bachelor's in Economics and his M.B.A from the University
of Dallas.
Emptoris also announced the hiring of Jim Frederickson as Regional
Vice President of Sales to lead the Atlanta office. Prior to joining
the Emptoris team, Frederickson was Vice President of Sales at
Hyperion Solutions and ABT Corporation. He was with Hyperion for
over 10 years. Fredrickson also held positions at Pansophic, Recognition
Equipment and the Control Data Corporation. Fredrickson, a retired
U.S. Navy Commander, earned a B.S. from Georgia State University
and an M.B.A. from the University of Alabama at Troy.
Net markets powered by Emptoris' ePASS technology offers an online
solution in which transactions are not driven purely by price,
but also by a set of business rules and criteria established by
the buyer. These rules are used to factor in the different variables
that go into the purchasing decision, such as product quality,
delivery deadlines, existing buyer/supplier contracts and supplier
performance ratings. In addition, sellers can take advantage of
processes such as bundling and volume discounts that allow them
to both better serve the buyer and improve margins.
