Wokefield Park is tucked away in a peaceful and picturesque corner of the Berkshire countryside, located to the West of Central London. An ancient county, Berkshire dates back to the time when King Alfred set the County Boundaries and takes its name from the large forest of birch trees that once grew there. The official residence of the English Royal Family, Windsor Castle, lies in Berkshire and in 1974 the county was officially recognised as a Royal County by HM the Queen.

The History of Wokefield Park
The main house of Wokefield Park was built for the Brocas family when they re-acquired the property sometime before 1777. Alterations were made by Sir John Soane in the early 19th century and have continued from that date. There is also some vaulting in the cellars which is thought to date from the time of Sergeant Edmund Plowden, Treasurer of the Middle Temple, who purchased the house in 1569.
The interior of the house is remembered for its contemporary fireplaces, wood panelling, moulded ceilings and an exquisite early 18th century stairway with twisted balusters and moulded handrail.
